Welcome to Urban Oasis Psychology – a calm and welcoming place for you to take time out
from your day to pause, reflect, and explore in a safe, supportive environment. If you’re here, you
may be feeling stuck, frustrated, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next in your life.
Life isn’t always easy. If you’re going through difficulties, some days can feel manageable, while
others can feel overwhelming – filled with stress, uncertainty, grief or anxiety.

At Urban Oasis Psychology, therapy isn’t about “fixing” things. It’s about exploring experiences,
gaining insight and understanding, and developing strategies that align with your values and
goals. Therapy provides a safe place for you to be heard, supported, and empowered to move
forward with a positive, strengths-based mindset.

Meet Kay Saddler

Hi, I’m Kay, and I know that reaching out for support can sometimes feel daunting as I've been through the same process myself! Before becoming a psychologist, I spent 20 years working in information technology in fast-paced environments where stress, pressure, and change were constant. I also went through several life changing personal experiences and sought the support of a wonderful psychologist at that time, to whom I will always be grateful. This experience inspired me to go back to university as a mature-aged student to become a psychologist, so I could support others through life’s challenges in the same meaningful way.

I understand what it’s like to navigate uncertainty, carry trauma, juggle responsibilities, and make tough decisions about the future, all while simply trying to make it through the day. I also know that reaching out for help can sometimes feel hard, especially if accompanied by feelings such as fear, shame, a sense of weakness, or the belief that things might never change. The good news is that taking that first step towards grabbing hold of your future can be very empowering! I love walking alongside others with compassion and understanding, helping you to manage life’s challenges, and supporting you to take positive steps forward, no matter how small.

My life experiences have shaped me as a person and have led to the way I work with people today. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, as no person is the same and no-one’s lives and circumstances are the same. Some people like a ‘no nonsense’ approach to learning practical skills to help manage day-to-day challenges or work towards future goals. Others prefer a gentler pace, taking time to talk through experiences, and process deep thoughts, feelings and emotions. Some people like a bit of both! Whatever you prefer, we’ll work together in a way that feels right for you.

If you’re not sure if you’re ready to book an appointment or if you have any questions, you are very welcome to book a Free 10 Minute Online Session with me first, to see if we are a good fit for one another. We will have a no-strings-attached chat and decide this together!

What To Expect

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You don’t even need to be certain that therapy is the right step for you. People often come to their first few sessions feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or not quite able to put into words what’s going on for them. That’s completely okay! Whatever brings you here, I’ll meet you where you are in your life – without judgment, without pressure, and at a pace that feels right for you.

Therapy is about having a safe place to share your thoughts and feelings. Therapy is also a collaborative process. It’s not about following a rigid structure or ticking boxes; it’s about working together to explore what’s happening for you and discovering what will help. Some people prefer practical steps and strategies they can use right away, while others feel more comfortable having time and space to talk, and to make sense of things first, before feeling ready to take steps forward.

The most important thing is that we work together to find an approach that feels right for you!
