Background & Professional Journey

Before becoming a psychologist, Kay spent over 20 years in information technology project and people management, working in fast-paced environments where stress, leadership responsibilities, and career challenges were a part of everyday life. She understands what it’s like to juggle responsibilities, navigate difficult decisions, and deal with the pressure of expectations—both from others and from yourself.
Over time, she realised that what she valued most was supporting others—listening to them, guiding them, and helping them through difficulties and change. This passion led her to retrain as a psychologist, bringing her real-world experience together with evidence-based psychological practice. Since that time Kay has worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, employee assistance programs (EAP), with veterans/first responders and families in not-for-profit organisations, in hospitals with people dealing with chronic illness, and in correctional settings in offender rehabilitation.
Today, she helps people navigate life’s challenges with a calm, logical, and compassionate approach, ensuring therapy is supportive, productive, empowering, and focused on positive growth.
Kay’s formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Forensic Science), a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (Psychology) and a Master of Professional Psychology. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Information Systems, a Diploma of Business and a Certificate in Prince2 and Agile Project Management. Kay is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS).

What To Expect From Therapy With Kay
Beginning therapy can sometimes feel like a big decision, but you don’t need to have all the answers before you start. You don't even need to know if therapy is right for you! Some people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed or unsure of how to put their feelings into words, while others are looking for a safe place to pause and reflect, or to learn new skills. That’s completely okay! Therapy is a collaborative process—one where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels right for you.
Some sessions may focus on learning practical skills and strategies to help you manage everyday challenges, while others may be more reflective, allowing you to gain insight into patterns, emotions, and behaviours. It’s not about following a rigid process but about working together to find out what approach helps you the most.
Kay’s approach is:
Safe & Confidential – A space where you can talk openly, knowing your privacy and trust are valued.
